Tale as Old as Time

I think it's about time for post number two, no?

Paper cut and watercolors
I made this piece a little while ago, I still haven't entirely decided if I've finished with it. It's inspired by the beginning of Disney's Beauty and the Beast, the stained glass sequence. And while doing...ahem...research for this project, I got to watch Beauty and the Beast and listen to the amazing soundtrack. I have to say, this one took a long time, as it got stretched out over several weeks, but it was incredibly fun.

I think I like this technique in papercutting. It's definitely more painstaking, and will take work to get exactly perfect, but coming up, I'm thinking... more stained glass paper cuts!

Ready, Set...

One small sketch for man, one giant leap for me!

And here we go...

I've been told that a blog is like a baby; it takes a lot of care and attention. I've also been told blogs are incredibly nerdy. Now with those lovely two bits of advice in mind, I've decided to accept the first and ignore the latter entirely. So, here's me giving it my best shot!

Welcome to what I think of as my incentive for working harder than ever on my portfolio.

I hope you enjoy,
